We Are the City Spotlight: Youth Art Exchange

YAX definitely became a safe haven for me. I wasn’t expected to act a certain way, there weren’t expectations of who I should be as a person. My only job there was to be expressive, and that I was. I enjoyed every second of it. As a child, I always loved art, but when it came time for me to grow up, art didn’t grow up with me. And joining Youth Art Exchange, I got that safe haven back. I got my love for art back, and that is something that I won’t let go.
